Ekaterina joined Patentica in 2009 as a patent assistant. At present Ekaterina mainly specializes in prosecuting biotechnology related patent applications, providing various types of patent search and opinions.

Having graduated with a master's degree in biotechnology from Arkhangelsk State Technical University in 2008, her technical background generally covers a wide range of life sciences, with a major being in the field of microbiology, immunology and genetic engineering.

At the same time, Ekaterina obtained the diploma of a specialist in professional translation from the Department Translation and Translation Science of the Arkhangelsk State Technical University.

Further in 2008, Ekaterina obtained a master's degree in chemical engineering from the Lulea University of Technology, Sweden. Her master's thesis work was devoted to avoiding organic acid inhibition in succinic acid production with Escherichia coli specific strain (AFP184).
