Russia is speeding towards abolishing usage if pirated software

International organization Business Software Alliance (BSA), specializing in the field of legal protection of software developers, has published results of the  5th Global Software Piracy Study. Among the nations studied, Russia led the way with a one-year drop of seven points to 73%, and a five-year drop of 14 points. Russia's piracy rate is still high, but it is decreasing at a fast pace as a result of legalization programs, government engagement and enforcement, user education, and an improved economy.

According to the press-service of OAO Lukoil, the Board for Patent Disputes of  the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents, and Trademarks (Rospatent) issued a decision to invalidate trade mark LUXOIL in it entirety.
