Maria Nilova obtained a M.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from the Faculty of Physical Chemistry at the St. Petersburg University of Technology and the title Dr. Techn. from the same University in 1986.
In 1995 Ms. Nilova obtained a Diploma from the Moscow Institute of Industrial Property and registered as a Patent Attorney .
1986, works at St. Petersburg University of Technology as a research worker in the field of polymers, composite materials and environment protection, and also gaining experience in compiling, filing and prosecution of applications for inventions.
1993, practices in international Patent Agency NEVINPAT in all aspects of intellectual property law with particular emphasis on chemical technology, metallurgy and pharmaceuticals.
1997, works as a corporate patent attorney in PROCESS INSIGHT, a Scottish design center founded by Alex Deas and located in St.Petersburg, gaining extensive experience in foreign patenting, especially in the field of electronics, computers and software-related inventions. On the same year founded with Alex Deas an intellectual property company PATENTICA.
Dr. Nilova's special areas of technical expertise include organic and inorganic chemical technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, polymers, cosmetics, adsorbents and absorbents articles, metallurgy, electronics and software, preparation of license, technological transfer agreements, property transactions.
Member of the Russian Association of Patent Attorneys and AIPPI National Group, member of LES Russia. Speaks English.
